Today Anders L. landed an 8 kg beauty at Fornesøyan, a silvery power torpedo that hadn’t been in the river for long.
So, fresh fish are still running – what are you waiting for?

FISH OF THE SEASON...
... at least for some time.

As reported earlier here on the site, Guillaume Chenu cought a fantastic fish from our Tranmael beat – one that held this year’s record as the biggest fish on our beats... for little more than a week, until our guest Erik landed a monster fish up at Sandbrøta beat weighing 19 kgs! Unfortunately, the photos of that beauty has been flying around in cyberspace for a while, so we haven’t been able to share that impression with you yet. But we’re trying our best to get hold of the proof to that tale - keep a lookout here on the web! Still, Guillaume’s fish is truly worth exposing here for a while longer, don’t you think?

A great July month for Sandbrøta beat!

Thanks to the skilled fishermen – mainly from Denmark –who have held the fort in July up at Sandbrøta beat, the statistics show great numbers and weights for our beat below Gaulfossen. This is where most of the action has been in the month of July and Sandbrøta has now moved up to the highest rank among the Melhuslaks’ beats overall. More than 80 salmon cought so far, with an average weight of 7.3 kgs. And remember: There is still a lot of fish in the river below Gaulfossen – why not book that August week at Sandbröta with Melhuslaks? Still a few weeks to go on one of the best seasons in years!
